SUN GLASS HISTORY
Our Story
Learning about a company is important, because good history shows consistency to a local community such as ours here in Durango, CO.
Sun Glass was founded in Farmington, NM by N.L. Garrett Sr. in 1952. The business was then purchased by Cliff Freeman and James Newlun in 1999. Then in the fall of 2008 Cliff Freeman (father) and Clint Freeman (son) purchased James Newlun’s shares of the business making it a true family owned and operated business.
The business has enjoyed a great, long-term relationship with Durango and the surrounding area. As the community has grown, Sun Glass has also grown to be the largest glass shop in the Four Corners Region.

Residential Services
Our residential department provides the region’s largest inventory of flat glass and inhouse insulated glass unit fabrication. This means custom fabrication in a timely manner. Our installers to do a stunning job with your home install. All our windows come with a 1-year standard warranty, and many come with a manufactures warranty – some as long as 10 years!

Commercial Services
Sun Glass’s commercial window department provides the region with the best inventory of glass, storefront, curtain wall, warranty, and reputation for quality work. Here at Sun Glass, our commercial department can assist you with the largest inventory of storefront materials, windows and glazing, as well as automatic doors.
